Pizza Pan Clock

I'm proud to say this project was made entirely from things I already had.  I'm really trying to be more resourceful these days :)

So I started with this.  An old rusty pizza pan (we got a new pretty one for a wedding present).

Primed and painted

Found this old $5 clock I've had laying around

Took that sucker apart

This is how I found the center point. Probably not the best method.

And here's where it got really "resourceful".  I used the ancient technique of "an old pill bottle top hot glued with a wire circle hot glued on top of that and then I had to balance out the bottom so I folded up some cardboard and hot glued that too" I'm sure you're familiar with this technique.

As they always say, the pictures do not do it justice.

It probably won't keep the best time, because my number 8 dot is wayyy off..
I really really love it though :)

$4 Spring Centerpiece

I've decided this is a "spring" centerpiece rather than Easter since Easter is next week :) Eggs are spring, right?
Take some cheap plastic eggs...
Decoupage some book pages on them with watered down Modge Podge.  Through trial and error I learned stripes about 2" x 1/2" worked best and I just haphazardly put the strips on loosely and then squeezed the whole egg to form the paper to the egg...sorry that didn't make any sense, moving on...
I forgot to take a "before" picture of the pots I used.  These for 2/$1 at Target.
Crumpled up some paper in the bottom for filler...
Then laid a piece of burlap-ish fabric on top and add eggs!

The runner is an old drop cloth I had.
I just love them all lined up!

Drop cloth runner = free (already had)
Pots = $3
Eggs = $1
Burlap = free (already had)
Total: $4

Not too shabby!

Everyone Else Did It...

So I had to make a rosette headband too :)

Update: Oops...didn't occur to me to elaborate on how I made it. All I did was twist some fabric and the roll it into the rosette shape and hot glue it.  Then I hot glued the whole flower to a headband.

I can't believe I forgot a "before" picture!

I primed my dining room months ago, and I could have SWORE I took a "before picture"...but that doesn't seem to be the truth.  Sorry, just imagine dark tan above the chair rail and blood/maroon red underneath.
(Sorry for the not-so-great pictures, it's really gloomy here in TN)

I still can't figure out what I want to display on my child's dresser - turned china cabinet.

Love Rodney White.

$4 curtains (aka $4 flat sheet from walmart)

And one more for good measure.

Back in the swing of things...

So I'm not going to pretend it hasn't been awhile since I've posted, because it has.  Sorry everyone, Spring is bad time for me because it's my dad's birthday and the anniversary of his death. So I've been in a funk lately, but I finally feel back to normal and would like to show you what I've been working on!

Thanks for putting up with me :)

A person after my own heart...

I have TONS of empty spray paint cans and I was just googling some creative uses for them and found this.

It's a lamp.  I think this would actually be really cute in a garage/craft/work room.

Do you have any ideas for empty spray paint cans?

The post is brought to you by...

...crappy iPhone pictures!

Okay, I promise I will get batteries for my camera today.  I just couldn't resist posting my first piece of Easter decor.

I used an 16x20 canvas, painted a rectangle on it, and then framed this [free] subway art from Landee See Landee Do.  I attached the frame (which is a very lightweight Dollar Tree frame) with industrial strength velcro.  That way, I can change out the subway art as often as I like!

Now if it just wasn't 42 degrees...

Saturday Snapshot

This is one of my favorite wedding pictures.  I just love re-living this moment!

The to-do list...

Sorry y'all,
I promise I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.  My camera died and I've yet to go get batteries because I've been so TIRED lately. I don't know why? I literally come home from work, eat dinner, and I'm falling asleep on the couch by 7pm. Anyways...I have been saving some project I'm wanting to do so I thought I'd share.

But most of all...I wish I was here

Only 11 more weeks until I am!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope to go get batteries so I can show you my new dining room!

Whooo Are You?

NightOwlCrafting

1. Have you ever had a professional massage before?
This has been the topic of a lot of conversations in my life recently. No. Never have, but I have decided that I will go get my first professional massage on my graduation day because I'm not walking. Now I just have to wait for Groupon or LivingSocial to have a coupon :)
2. When drinking bottled water do you have a preference on which brand you drink?
SmartWater. It's all about the spout on the bottle, that's all I like about it.
3. What is your favorite kind of soup?
Chicken and Rice Soup from Demo's (which I think is only in TN)...but darn vegetarianism took it away from me :( You better appreciate me chickens!
4. Do you have a preference on which Kleenex brand you use?
Our Kleenex is toilet paper :)

5. What is your favorite breakfast food?
Bacon. Yep. Darn Vegetarianism...again.
